On February 19, 2013, it was announced that the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Railways will adjust railway freight prices in the near future, and the increase in freight prices this time will be slightly higher than that of last year.
The last time the price of railway freight was adjusted from May 20 last year, the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Railways adjusted the price of railway freight, and the average freight price of goods increased by 1 cent per ton-kilometer, that is, from 10.51 cents per ton-kilometer to 10.61 cents, an increase of 1 cent. reached 9.5%.
However, in the last adjustment of railway freight rates, the current freight rates for coal of Daqin, Fengshada, Jingyuan and Jingqin lines remained unchanged. As of press time yesterday, Daqin Railway (601006) has not issued an announcement on price adjustment information.
According to the data released by the Ministry of Railways, in 2012, the total volume of freight transported by railways was 3,904.38 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 0.7%. Since the main commodities transported by rail are grain and coal, the price increase of rail freight will increase the transportation cost of bulk commodities.
This price increase is mainly aimed at the scope of the National Railway. The lines within the scope of the National Railway include the Wuxi-Alashankou section of the Lanxin Line, the Nanjiang Line, the Hongling Line, and the Golmud-Lhasa Section of the Qinghai-Tibet Line. These lines will be subject to price increases. The four coal transportation routes of Daqin, Fengshada, Jingyuan and Jingqin are not included, and the freight rates remain unchanged.
From 1997 to 2011, the Ministry of Railways raised freight rates nine times, mostly between 2% and 4%. This time, the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Railways jointly issued a notice announcing that the national railways will implement a unified freight rate adjustment for business lines, and the average ton/km will be increased by 1 cent. This is five times the increase in rail freight rates in April last year and more than the sum of the previous three years of freight rate adjustments.
Guangzhou-Shenzhen Railway pointed out in its announcement on the 19th that the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Railways will adjust the railway freight prices in the near future, and the specific adjustment plan is still under study. According to the 2011 annual report disclosed by the company, in 2011, the revenue of Daqin railway freight business was 1.387 billion yuan, accounting for 9.44% of the total revenue, and the passenger business revenue was 8.027 billion yuan, accounting for 54.64% of the total revenue. It is not yet possible to judge the impact of the adjustment on the company's performance.
Tielong Logistics pointed out in the announcement, "Because the company's Shawan railway freight business, which is related to railway freight prices, has a short haul distance, this railway freight price adjustment has no significant impact on the company's railway freight-related business profits.
